Bringing something onto the bed and doing small work just right before bed, somehow, have become our nightly habit. And where do we put our things away as sleep claims us? Precisely, on the bedside table. It has come to our attention that, being close friends to the bed, bedside tables are produced as well in various styles and designs.
We have seen a set of bedroom furniture consisting of a bed, a pair of bedside tables, a credenza, a dressing table and a chest of drawers; all of them are wearing the same uniform of dark toned wooden materials marred with silver circles in their faces. Even they have the same waisted physical forms. A traditional bedside table looks no different from four-leg short chest of drawers. And they are so conventional that they mostly made out of wooden materials. They also have the vintage feeling from the warm timber tone and the brass knobs. But a real classic bedside table has the sturdy hardwood look and it is usually adorned with brass handles. It also has pronounced ornamental design, usually on the top and the legs, even though the main focus which is the drawers stands straight.
Contemporary bedrooms open a big chance for any designed bedside tables to join in the scheme. The requirements are simple: being artsy innovative and mingle well with the sweeping tone. A barren bedroom has a double base common table-like bedside table. It is long enough to carry a table lamp and your novel. A solid wooden floating bed even has a bedside table attached to its side, equally floating and is cladded in the same wooden sheath. Funny enough, the long headboard contains a small niche where the table lamp is sitting nicely, while the bedside table is left empty.
